Over the last few decades, healthcare industry has become more important and necessary part of our society. It is regarded as an important determinant in promoting general health and well being of people around the world. Life expectancy has been increasing steadily, especially in the developed countries, because of the improving socioeconomic conditions, increasing child survival and infectious disease control, and technological development. Also the attitude towards the healthcare has changed; nowadays, people take diet, sanitation, and healthcare more serious than before. Thus, aging population is a phenomenon worldwide, as shown in the Figure 1. In the 1960s, Korea’s life expectancy was significantly less compared to the United States and other developed countries; however, as the economy of Korea improved, the life expectancy has also increased.
