Question: Is energy conserved in a mass-and-spring system
1) Equipments: Meter sticks, springs, masses
2) Procedure of the Laboratory
A) Prepare and set up of the equipments that we need for this lab.
B) Measure how much the spring is stretched three times for each trial.
C) By using the formula, calculate the force on the spring.
D) By subtracting the final point to the starting point, find Δx(distance).
E) Through the data draw the graph of force versus distance.
F) Calculate the spring constant, k, for this spring.
G) Through the average spring constant from the part #one’s data show PE(Top) = PE(bottom).
H) Analysis the results from the measurement and conclude them.
